Elect People Who Have Your Interest At Heart – Sen Saleh

As politicians in the country gears up for 2019 general election, the former Senator representing Kaduna Central, General Sani Saleh (rtd) has appealed to voters to open their eyes and vote for only those who have their interest at heart.

Sen Saleh expressed this when a House of Representatives aspirant, Ekene Abubakar Adams empowered residents of Romi Community with items worth millions of Naira at the Boys Brigade Ground, Ungwan Sule, Kaduna.

According to him, “We are getting close to the electioneering campaign and a number of people will be coming to beg for your votes. I want you to remember that some will only come to sweet talk you.
“I want to beg you that when that time comes, vote people who would help you. Ask them to show you what they have contributed to the society before you vote for them,” he said.

General Saleh who was the chairman of the occasion, appealed to the youths to shun violence and seek ways of contributing to the society positively.
“I want to appeal that you embrace peace. Even if you are rich, you cannot enjoy it when there is no peace. As such, I want to appeal to our youths to shun violence and seek ways of gainful employment,” he said.

Senator Saleh who was Kaduna Central Senator from 2011 to 2015 said the current political dispensation has witnessed all manners of politicians, but only few like Ekene Adams have the interest of the people at heart.

“For the past 18 years, we have witnessed all manners of people in politics. By God’s Grace, people like Ekene Adams want to use politics and the institution of office to help people.
“For Ekene Abubakar Adams, I want to say thank you for this empowerment. You are not doing it because of politics, but out of genuine love for the people, ” he said.

He commended the SA Gbagyi, Dr. Danjuma Bards for ensuring that peace reigns in his kingdom, while congratulating beneficiaries of the empowerment.
“I pray that this items you are receiving today will better your lives and one day, you will in turn be in position to empower other people.
“When you help one person in establishing a trade, you have helped humanity,” he emphasized.
